Subarmalis with Pterges

Generally Roman soldiers wore a so-called „subarmalis“, also called „thoracomachus“ under their metal armours like lorica hamata, segmentata or plumata. Especially during marching this was a vital piece of equipment, since it reduced the chafing of the armour and of the carrying straps of shield and other gear. This type is perfect to be worn under any type of Roman armour, or as a textile armour just on its own. It is suitable for middle Republican up to Late Roman impressions.
